In these distressing and uncertain times, marked by the pandemic, biodiversity loss, the climate emergency and deep social and environmental inequity, the pain and suffering caused by human systems of dominance is laid bare. Whether we are actively involved in movements for resistance and transformation, or feeling isolated and alone, the uncertainty of our collective future often brings a broad spectrum of painful emotions including despair, confusion, anger and grief.  One thing we know for sure is that we need each other and that the depth of our connection depends in part on acknowledging and sharing our deepest reactions to our situation.

This intimate zoom gathering, limited to 12 registrants, offers three Sunday morning explorations of experiential practices that engage our whole selves in deepening our connections to ourselves, our human community and all life on earth. Exploring our gratitude for life as well as the pain we carry for the imperilled state of our world, participants will gain personal insight, resources, and renewed energy for bringing their gifts into service of life.

Before each of the three sessions, participants will receive reflections and instructions for an outdoor activity. These will be an integral part of the program and we ask everyone to commit to these activities as well as to all three zoom sessions.

Jackie Larkin and Maggie Ziegler are skilled facilitators who have co-facilitated this reconnecting work twenty years. They integrate a wide range of experiences and perspectives into their facilitation and have trained extensively with eco-philosopher Joanna Macy, who developed a pioneering form of group work called The Work That Reconnects. Maggie and Jackie are walking the path of grounding this work in practices of decolonization.
